September is here, school is back in session, and cooler temps are on the way!
Summer was great, and for sure I’ll miss it but cooler temps can mean more outside activities and the holidays are just around the corner. Stroll through the Chestertown Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning and hit up the local shops downtown. Then, stop into some of our local restaurants for some outdoor dining. You’ll be glad you did!
It’s just warm enough to enjoy a great run or bike ride without having to bundle up. And there’s still time to stock upon fresh produce at our local farm stands.
There’s so much going on around the county, but to highlight just a few, in mid-October there’s the Chestertown RiverArts Studio tour. Kent County is home to many artists, and while not all of them participate in the studio tour, many of them do, and the studio tour is a great way to visit some local studios and check out their work. Check out their website for a list of participating artists: http://studiotour.chestertownriverarts.net/ Sultana’s Downrigging weekend in early November kicks off our holiday season. You don’t want to miss the fleet of tall ships coming to town for this event, check out their website for the schedule of events: http://downrigging.org/
If you’re local or visiting, there’s plenty to do and lots of fun to be had!
